Muhannah Hossain
Muhannah grew up in Charlottesville, Virginia and graduated from Virginia Tech in 2019 with a B.S. in Clinical Neuroscience. As an undergraduate he worked in the laboratory of Dr. Michelle Olsen at the School of Neuroscience. His research was focused on astrocyte morphology and how it related to Brain Derived Neurotrophic Factor (BDNF) and the TrkB.T1 receptor. He came to the Lukens Lab interested in learning about neurodegenerative diseases, immunology and growing as a scientist. Outside of the lab, he coaches a high school swim team (Go Warriors!) and likes to travel, try new foods, and spend time with his friends. Muhannah is now pursuing a medical degree at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.
