Congrats to graduate student Josh Samuels for being awarded first prize at the 2024 GBS Symposium poster session!

UVA’s Graduate Biosciences Society (GBS) Symposium is an annual event to showcase BIMS outstanding graduate student awardees and current graduate student research. A summary of the event can be found here, and you can learn more about GBS here.

Rottie Josh presented his research on the role of microglial SHIP-1 in an Alzheimer’s disease mouse model. Josh is a winner in science and on the trails, with his innovative use of conical tubes for long run snacks, pictured below.
