Eric Steacy

Eric grew up in the heart of Shenandoah County, Virginia. Before graduating from high school, Eric graduated from Lord Fairfax Community College receiving an Associate of Arts and Science degree in General Studies. After high school, Eric attended Brown University and received a Bachelor of Science with a concentration in Neuroscience. Before joining the Lukens Lab, Eric had no prior lab experience and hoped to join a graduate program after refining his research skills. While in the Lukens lab, Eric helped out on a number of projects including working with graduate student Josh Samuels to study the role of SHP-1 and SHIP-1 in shaping microglial responses to amyloid beta in Alzheimer’s disease. Outside of work, Eric likes to stream videogames on Twitch.tv as a hobby. Eric is now a PhD student in our own Neuroscience Graduate Program (NGP) at UVA.
